Tempe Town Hall – Youth Mental Health

Join Tempe Mayor Corey Woods and the notMYkid team on Zoom this Thursday, October 22nd at 2 p.m.(AZ/PT) for a Tempe town hall on the topic of youth mental health.

The Mayor, the City of Tempe, and the notMYkid team all recognize how challenging 2020 is in terms of youth mental health, and we’re coming together to provide you with knowledge, tools, and resources to help keep your loved ones healthy and safe. This town hall is ideal for parents, guardians, grandparents, educators, and anyone else who works or interacts with youth.

Topics will include signs and symptoms of someone struggling with a mental health challenge, how to help someone dealing with mental health challenges, and what resources are available to support you and your family during difficult times. The information provided has the potential to help you save lives. We will also be answering your questions related to youth mental and behavioral health to ensure you feel equipped to handle whatever lies ahead.

Admission is free of charge but registration is required. Follow the link below to register: Register Here:

This live webinar will also introduce our new amplif[i] Leadership program for high school juniors and seniors who are ready to shift into growth mindset, strengthen leadership skills, and expand their potential through mindfulness. We’ll introduce our dream team who will facilitate an unforgettable 6-week coaching program coming soon!

amplif[i] Leadership is a unique mentoring program for teens to help develop practical skills that generate confidence and influence over a lifetime. We have designed a program that will help ignite the fire inside of your teen that sets them on a path of self-discovery and wellness. The pressures that already come with being a teenager are hard enough. Throw in a global pandemic, completely alter his or her “normal” life, and then ask them to rise to the occasion? Cue the struggle.

Our program is designed specifically for older teens in grades 11-12 who are ready and willing to explore what it takes to be a leader and define who they want to be in the world. Your teen will have the opportunity to engage with some of our community’s most dynamic personal development coaches and expert preventionists to focus on building critical life skills surrounding real issues teens are facing during a time of rapid change and in their lives.

We are passionate about empowering young people to show up as their best selves, in any situation and we have structured this program specifically around three pillars: Growth mindset, Leadership, and Mindfulness.
