Meleni Gonzales (She/her/hers) joined our notMYKid team in October of 2022. Meleni is an independent Professional Counselor (LPC) with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma, substance, and challenges with symptoms of mental health illness. Meleni is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Sand tray, and integrates various modalities that are tailored to the individuals and family’s unique needs. In addition, Meleni is certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, a developmental and biological approach to organizing a child’s history of adverse experiences along with current functioning to support treatment interventions.
Meleni received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Argosy University, and her Master’s in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and is currently working on her doctorate in psychology with an emphasis on cognition and instruction at Grand Canyon University. Meleni’s passion for learning and sharing with others can be experienced in and out of therapeutic sessions. Meleni provides dosing of psychoeducation to increase self-awareness of mind and body connections and strategies to support overall wellness. Meleni loves to learn, attend trainings, and in her personal time. Meleni loves to spend time with her family and friends. Meleni looks forward to finishing her dissertation and traveling.
