Megan MacIntosh has joined the notMYkid team to lead our exciting well-being program expansion for youth and families. Megan’s personal wellness journey began in 2000 when she stepped into her first yoga class. That one class changed the course of her life and set Megan on a path to explore healing arts. For over 15 years Megan has been leading classes that encourage individuals to connect to a deep sense of purpose, both on and off the mat. She is a certified E-RYT 200 with over 800 hours of training in hatha yoga, hot yoga, yin yoga, trauma-informed yoga, yoga for children, sound healing and Yoga Life Coaching.  She also holds certification in Barre and Mat Pilates. Megan has served as a Community Ambassador for Lululemon and has been hands on in creating yoga programs for local health clubs.

Megan has drawn upon her trainings in mindfulness, somatic experiencing, meditation, and sound to help her in her own healing from complex PTSD focus. This led her to pursue expanding her skills into the therapeutic setting by supporting those struggling with depression, anxiety, body image, trauma, and ADHD. Megan’s greatest joy is being a mother of 4; ages 22, 18, 16 and 7. She has invested many hours volunteering at her children’s schools, serving on the PTO, leading Girl Scout troops and being “team mom”. She has also made plenty of mistakes as a parent! Those mistakes led to growth and repair and allowed her to become a champion for her kids’ emotional and mental health. However, on January 23, 2021 she lived every parent’s worst nightmare. A late-night knock at her door was the police telling her it was her kid. Her son Chase (18) had died from an accidental drug overdose after taking counterfeit Percocet he purchased on Snapchat. One pill took his life, and that one pill changed the course of Megan’s life once again. Her mission now is to help our youth connect to their innate sense of purpose. Because she has experienced firsthand the transformative powers of therapy, mindful movement, meditation, and sobriety in her own life, she seeks to share them with others so we can learn to connect in real and meaningful ways.
