Salary Range: $57,000 to $65,000 DOE

Job Description:

notMYkid has an exciting opportunity to join our growing non-profit that continues to expand our outpatient treatment center. We are currently seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and motivated candidate who is licensed as an associate’s level therapist in Arizona.

Founded in 2000, notMYkid is a Scottsdale-based non-profit dedicated to inspiring positive life choices. We passionately work to educate and protect our community’s kids by providing a full continuum of life-saving prevention, early intervention, behavioral health treatment, and peer support. Our team of prevention and behavioral health experts are dedicated to helping youth overcome challenges during their most vulnerable years.

This new position requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the behavioral health arena. Candidates must be at least an associate level clinician (LAC, LMSW, LAMFT) in accordance with ARS Chapter 33, Article 1, under the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. This new position will be directly involved in carrying a caseload in Scottsdale and Gilbert.

Job Duties:

Therapist will provide evidence-based clinical interventions in accordance with our clinical practice guidelines and standards of clinical ethics. Facilitates individual and group therapy; completes clinical assessments based on client strengths and needs; works with clients and their families to develop age and developmentally appropriate treatment plans; and serves as a client advocate/liaison with families and community agencies, as appropriate.  May provide on-call intervention services, as well as weekend and holiday coverage, as scheduled.  Provide clinical oversight to BHT Clinicians, as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Interpersonal skills which allow for professional and positive relationships with co-workers, clients, families, and other community members.
  • Strong clinical skills, including crisis de-escalation preferred.
  • Experience with telehealth and engaging clients remotely.
  • Good communication skills, evidenced by a non-judgmental approach, effective listening, and positive interactions.
  • Compassionate, energized to work with young people, perceptive, flexible, an effective communicator, and capable of working with all types of personalities.
  • Thorough understanding of clinical documentation requirements and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of the DSM-V.

 

Experience and Education:

Master’s degree required.

Two to four years of clinical experience preferred.

Licensed at the associate level (LAC, LMSW, LAMFT) in accordance with ARS Chapter 33, Article 1, under the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners required.

Peer Support Specialist

PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST

(FULL TIME/PART TIME)

notMYkid has an exciting opportunity to join our team and help expand treatment and support services in Arizona.   We are currently seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and motivated candidate to provide Peer Support Services to teens, young adults, and families.

Through the [i]nspired Peer Program, peer supports will assist teens and young adults struggling with substance use issues, mental health challenges or overcoming life obstacles. Peer supports will function as role models, exhibiting competency in personal recovery, resilience, the use of ongoing coping skills and goal setting techniques, while providing support for clients in one-to-one and group settings. Peer supports will be trained and educated on how to strategically share their experience to elicit motivation and hope.

Peer support specialists will receive a certification to deliver peer-based education and early intervention services that are developmentally and culturally appropriate for populations being served by notMYkid.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma/GED
  2. At least one year in recovery from substance use and/or mental health challenges.
  3. 1 year of cumulative professional work experience working with youth and/or facilitating groups preferred
  4. Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card (or ability to obtain one)
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point and Excel, as well as Can
  6. Ability to work independently under limited supervision; organize work assignments and manage multiple tasks at once.
  7. Ability to work with individuals from diverse socioeconomic and cultural groups.
  8. Ability to write clearly and concisely.
  9. Ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a role model to peers and young adults through mutual engagement and appropriate disclosure of personal struggles and lived experience.
  • Implement peer mentoring and support programs by facilitating one-to-one and group sessions with peers and families.
  • Administer evaluations tools and surveys to help monitor program deliverables and effectiveness.
  • Engage with peers daily through virtual and in-person programming, setting goals, tracking activities, and creating mutual engagement.
  • Participate in weekly supervision sessions
  • Facilitate sessions of Project REWIND, an early intervention program for families.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct in adherence to notMYkid policies and procedures.

Prevention Specialist

As important key players of the Prevention Program, specialists will use their unique skill sets to inspire teens and young adults to work towards healthier life choices. Prevention Specialists will function as public speakers, classroom facilitators, and reinforcers of notMYkid’s values and principles. Prevention Specialists will receive training to deliver evidence-informed and evidence-based programs that are developmentally and culturally appropriate for populations being served by notMYkid.

  • Assist with planning and execution of special events.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions for program development and planning.
  • Participate in weekly supervision with the Program Director for prevention programs.
  • Maintain meaningful, yet professional relationships with assigned speakers while reinforcing the organization’s values and principles.
  • Serve as back-up presenter or facilitator for assigned speakers (in case of emergency).
  • Complete weekly documentations required to track, monitor, and evaluate program progress and effectiveness.
