Intensive Outpatient Services

Intensive Outpatient Services at notMYkid offer a proactive approach to addressing the mental health challenges and life obstacles that adolescents may encounter. Our program is designed to equip teens with the necessary tools and support to navigate their journey toward the foundation of mental health, healing, and personal growth.

Through our behavioral health training programs and intensive outpatient program (IOP), adolescents are immersed in a structured and supportive environment where they can explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and foster meaningful connections with peers, family, and community. By participating in our program, teens can experience a multitude of benefits that extend far beyond symptom management:

  • Inspires Hope & Confidence: Through guided therapeutic interventions and peer support, adolescents regain a sense of hope for the future and build confidence in their ability to overcome challenges.
  • Increases Coping Skills: Our curriculum focuses on teaching practical coping mechanisms and resilience-building techniques that empower teens to effectively manage stressors and setbacks.
  • Enhances Social & Emotional Growth: Group therapy sessions provide a platform for adolescents to enhance their social skills, emotional intelligence, and empathy, fostering personal growth and interpersonal development.
  • Strengthens Family & Community Connections: Family counseling sessions and community involvement initiatives encourage adolescents to strengthen their bonds with loved ones and engage positively with their surrounding support networks.
  • Builds Resilience: By confronting obstacles head-on and receiving guidance from our experienced clinicians, teens develop the resilience and determination needed to build a foundation for mental health, overcome adversity, and thrive in the face of challenges.
  • Provides Education on Adolescent Obstacles: Our curriculum addresses common adolescent issues such as peer pressure, academic stress, substance abuse, and self-esteem, equipping teens with knowledge and strategies to navigate these obstacles effectively.
  • Reduces Isolation & Harmful Behaviors: Engaging in group therapy promotes a sense of belonging and reduces feelings of isolation, thereby decreasing the likelihood of engaging in harmful behaviors or withdrawing from social interactions.

Our intensive outpatient program comprises a comprehensive array of components tailored to meet the diverse needs of adolescents:

  • 12-Week Rotating Curriculum: Our structured curriculum covers a range of topics essential for adolescent mental health and personal development, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching experience for participants.
  • Group Therapy Sessions: Teens attend three group sessions per week, each lasting three hours, providing ample opportunities for peer interaction, skill-building, and therapeutic exploration.
  • Individual and Family Counseling: In addition to group therapy, participants receive individual counseling and family therapy sessions to address specific concerns and strengthen familial bonds.
  • Peer Support Services: Peer support offers adolescents an opportunity to connect one-on-one or in small groups with others who may share similar experiences. Our peer support specialists foster a sense of understanding, empathy, and camaraderie that promotes connection and change.
  • Technology-Assisted Treatment Services (Optional): For those who prefer a more tech-oriented approach, we offer optional technology-assisted treatment services through an app designed to supplement traditional therapy modalities by implementing daily check-ins, availability to virtual resources, and communication with their peer support specialist between appointments.
  • Flexible Payment Options: Our program accepts both insurance and private pay options, ensuring accessibility and affordability for families seeking support for their adolescents.
  • Expert Clinical Team: Led by our team of Master’s Level Clinicians, our program boasts a diverse and experienced staff dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to every participant.

To be eligible for admission to our intensive outpatient program, adolescents must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 17.
  • Comprehensive Assessment: Each applicant undergoes a thorough assessment process to evaluate their mental health needs and determine the appropriateness of the program.
  • Primary Mental Health Diagnosis: Adolescents must have a primary mental health diagnosis to qualify for admission, ensuring that they receive targeted support tailored to their specific needs.
